Foundational Mat
(in-person/online hybrid course)
This is the first step towards becoming a certified Pilates Process instructor. In this course, you'll master the Mat Level 1 & 2 repertoire, including modifications. These essential exercises form the building blocks for the later equipment courses.
You'll also be introduced to the Pilates ProcessTM Principles, covering functional anatomy basics, postural analysis, programming, cueing, communication, and practice teaching in a dynamic, supportive, and fun environment.
The course spans over 8 weeks and balances hands-on and online learning in the following format:
Four weekends of in-person instruction
Two weeks of self-paced online learning before the in-person sessions begin
Two additional weeks of self-guided online learning midway through the course, including a Zoom check-in
Note: Students may start the online portion more than two weeks in advance (subject to availability of materials) if they are registered and have either paid the course fee in full or completed the first instalment (for pay-plan students). Two weeks is the minimum amount of time required for pre-course preparation.

Certification
The exam is comprised of a practical and written component of which you must pass both to achieve certification.
To become a fully certified Pilates Process instructor, you must complete and pass the separate exams. We separate this from the course to allow time to integrate the material and practice teach.
We advise waiting 3 - 6 months before taking the exam to allow for ample time to study and finish your practice teaching, review and observation hours.
